1) Steam train / Welcome dinner
Overnight: Zurich (I) incl. L + D + B&B
Sunday

Your tour will start at 12:00 pm!
AM: Arrival in Switzerland / Zurich (Airport or Main Station) - transfer to the hotel. Please ensure, that your scheduled arrival time at Zurich is before 11:00 am - our program starts 12:00 pm (you may arrive a day earlier and book an extra night at the same hotel).

PM: Very close to Zurich, in Bauma, the first highlight is awaiting the group. The Dampfbahn Zurcher Oberland (Steam train) will shuttle us from Hinwil to Bauma and back. Welcome Dinner is served on the Vessel of the ZSG, Zurichsee Schifffahrts­gesellschaft (Fleet of the Lake Zurich).
If we are lucky, it will be on one of the old 2 steamboats: Town of Zurich or Town of Rapperswil.

2) Swiss chocolate / Rochers-de-Naye Overnight: Lausanne (II) incl. L + D + B&B
Monday
AM: On the way to the French speaking part of Switzerland, you will be introduced to the secrets of Swiss chocolate and Swiss cheese.
PM: The cog railroad up to the Rochers-de-Naye is cresting through a most beautiful landscape. On the top, we will enjoy the breathtaking lookout over the Lake Geneva area into the French and Swiss Alps.
3) Vertic Alp Emosson. Overnight: Spiez (III) incl. L + D + B&B
Tuesday

AM: Transfer by minibus to Martigny to reach the Mont-Blanc Express train. Passing through the magical Trient Valley with its rocky outcroppings, forests, wild gorges and classic alpine villages. In order to visit the Emosson hydroelectric power system, we will be using the 3 different mountain railways of the Vertic Alp Emosson.

PM: Continuing to Spiez, we will travel by the car shuttle train Lotschberg.

4) Lotschberg base tunnel Overnight: Horw (Lucerne) (IV) incl. L + D + B&B
Wednesday
AM: Visit the base tunnel system of the Lotschberg and be int­ro­du­ced to the safety and security system of one of the world's longest railway tunnel systems. Later, we will visit the tunnel system itself - on foot.
PM: As a contrast, we will also use the world unique "Cabrio" aerial cable car up to the Stanserhorn.
5) Stoos surface cable car Overnight: St. Moritz (V) incl. L + D + B&B
Thursday

AM: On the way to the Engadin, we will visit the "Verkehrshaus" in Lucerne, with the Railway Museum of Switzerland.

PM: The new Stoos surface cable car is a construction, you can not see anywhere else in the world (so far)!

6) Bernina Pass
Overnight: St. Moritz (V) incl. L + D + B&B
Friday
AM: On the way to the Italian Switzerland you get to see the UNESCO World Heritage route over the Bernina Pass.
In Brusio you pass the circular viaduct with the Rhaetian Railway, this is how the difference in altitude is overcome.
PM: Excursion by horse-drawn carriage to the largely untouched Val Roseg. Dinner will be served at the Roseg Glacier Restaurant and then we will return to the starting point by horse-drawn carriage.

7) Helical tunnels Albula line Overnight: Zurich (I) incl. L + D + B&B
Saturday
On the way to Zurich, we will visit the construction site of the new Albula Tunnel, travel on the RhB Albula Bernina Line with its helical tunnels and call by the RhB train museum in Bergun.

The RhB Railways system from Chur to Tirano (Italy) crossing through the Albula tunnel and over the Bernina pass, is listed as a UNESCO World Culture Heritage.

8) Gotthard summit- & base tunnel / End End of tour — travel onward or home incl. L + D + B&B
Sunday
AM: Gotthard summit and base tunnel.
From Zürich via the summit tunnel to Bellinzona in the southern part of Switzerland, where the Italian language is natively spoken. The return journey takes us through the longest railroad tunnel (57km) in the world.

PM: End of main program at Zurich Airport: 14:30 pm
