| By the old, very beautiful route, through the Gotthard summit tunnel, we take the "Treno Gottardo" to the south of Switzerland, the Italian-speaking part. Locarno / Ascona are the 2 towns we visit. There are 2 possibilities. You may spend part of the day in Locarno or you continue to Ascona and enjoy the southern atmosphere on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Back to the north, the "German-Switzerland", we take the train through the longest railroad tunnel in the world - 57 km / 35.5 miles long - the Gotthard Base Tunnel. | ||

| Crest the Rigi with the blue cog wheel train from Arth Goldau. After relishing the panoramic view, not only into the alps but also towards France and Germany, you descend with the red train to Vitznau, from where a vessel of the Lake Lucerne navigation will transfer you to Lucerne, your second possibility to explore this world famous tourist place. | ||
