Switzerland has, besides the mountains, a lot to be seen in the cities. Explore up to 10 fascinating towns in the german-, french-, italien- and romantsch speaking areas. The charming cities are full of history, some of them date back to the Roman times. This is a perfect way to explore Switzerland, even if you do not want to crest high up into the alps.
With its four language parts, Switzerland includes on a small surface of only 41,285 km2 / 15,940 sq mi four old, major culture of Europe! No other country in Europe offers you on such a small surface so much different, and interesting things of all kind to be visited and enjoyed!

Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe german speaking part

8.30 AM from Zurich-Sihlquai (bus terminal)
The majestic world of the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe at 3'454 m /11'333 ft. You reach Lauterbrunnen by coach, where you board the cogwheel train for the most interesting trip  to Jungfraujoch - Europe's highest railway station. Enjoy the incredible world of eternal snow and ice. Visit the „Alpine Sensation“ a round-tour subway officially opened to mark the centenary of Jungfrau Railway, the Ice Palace, experience the breathtaking panorama view from the Sphinx Observation Terrace, overlooking the Aletsch Glacier (Europe’s longest glacier). The down hill trip takes you to Grindelwald where your coach awaits you. Arrival in Zurich at approx. 8 pm.

Mount Titlis - Glacier Paradise german speaking part

10:00 AM from Zurich-Sihlquai (bus terminal)
An excursion to the highest vantage point in Central Switzerland. In Engelberg we board the aerial cableway for a 40 minute trip to the high alpine glacier region. Enjoy a ride in the revolving „ROTAIR” gondola that takes you up to the summit at 3020 m (10’000 ft.) overlooking the Swiss Alps. Snow and ice are guaranteed. During 2 hour stay on the mountain visit the Ice Grotto and if the weather allows ride the „Ice Flyer” the modern chairlift offering spectacular views into glacier crevasses and ice falls, walk over Europe’s highest suspension bridge „Titlis Cliff Walk” and sledge on snow, even in summer, on the „Fun Lift”. Return by coach via Lucerne (1 hour at leisure).

A different way / system to explore Switzerland

Switzerland is, compared to most other countries in Europe, very little (only 41,285 km2 / 15,940 sq mi). From Zurich, travelling into the different directions of the country, you reach most - for touristic interesting - spots with in 1:00 hr, a few of them in 2:00 hrs. For this tour, we have followed this fact and have planned a trip which is much more convenient for you.

You will stay in the same hotel in the Zuich area the whole time!

Lac Lemon Lake Geneva, Lausanne

• The Olympic Museum presents the cornerstones of olympism sport
• Constructed from 1165 onwards but not consecrated until 1275, Lausanne Cathedral is the biggest in Switzerland. Built in the Gothic style, it has one of the finest stained-glass windows in Europe and the biggest musical instrument in Switzerland.

Exursion 5)

Bellinzona + Valle Verzasca italien speaking part

On the way from Zurich to the southern part of Switzerland, you will be  traveling trough the longest railwaystunnel on the world, the Gotthartd base tunnel. On the way back, your train trip will take you trough one of the most scenig train trips, the old summit tunnel, opend 1822 a.c.

Visitors can rediscover this historical past of Bellinzona by exploring its narrow streets and squares and visiting its three castles, examples of incomparable power and virile beauty that recount centuries of history written by Romans and Longobards, Swiss and Milanese.
Due to its isolated location, the Verzasca Valley is claimed as one of the valleys that could best keep its originality. The secluded geographical location made it unattractive for conquerors since the Roman period, and even before.


Exursion 6)

Bergün + Chur romanisch speaking part
The Albula Railway Museum is located in Bergün, right next to the UNESCO World Heritage railway line. It explains lots of facts about the history of the railway line’s construction, the economic and social changes that resulted from it, and topical aspects about this most spectacular of Swiss railway lines, showcased through original exhibits and multimedia rooms.
Chur is the oldest town in Switzerland with a settlement history of more than 5,000 years. The historic Old Town is very much worth a visit and completely car-free.

Zurich german speaking part

Your Last Day is the day to be spent in Zurich.

am: Private city sightseeing with a local, fluent enfglish speaking guide.
It's the ideal city to do all your shopping, to buy all the souveniers you would like to take home.
As a special "Farwell-Present" you may visit the Chocolate-Factory of "Frey" and produce some Swiss Chocolate your self.

• A walk through the old town of Basel

• The special thing about Basel, you have to know, is: This town has nearly 40 TOP museums. Here, you will find for every interest something realy outstanding!

the home of the WEB, UN (United Nations / League of Nations) and the Red Cross
• Geneva, cradle of the Red Cross, runs the only museum which is dedicated the work of Henry Dunant and the Red Cross / Red Halfmoon movment.
• The Patek Philippe Museum, experience a journey through five centuries of watchmaking.


Extra C)

Locarno or Lugano italien speaking part

The southern part of Switzerland is also the sunny, warmer area of Switzerland. If the weather on the north side of the alps is bad, rainy, cold, you might enjoy a extra trip to the south. We have 2 options for this:

Locarno and Ascona

The Lake Maggiore region is an extremely rich tourist destination. From the quiet shores of the lake to the busy riverbanks, not to mention the rich gastronomic and cultural offering. Discovering Lake Maggiore and the surrounding landscapes on board of a boat of the “Navigazione del Lago Maggiore” is a unique experience.

 

Lugano and Melide

Visiting the city to contemplate a work of art or to attend a concert is always a fabulous experience. If you want to have an overview of Switzerland and spend a pleasant time in a fantastic region, don't miss Swissminiatur in Melide, an exciting place and an attraction for all those who want to visit our country.

The places, Switzerland was founded
• In the center of Switzerland, we have arranged for you some easy hikes to the different places, which have been important when Switzerland was founded, back in 1291 a.c
• Beside the hiking, you have the opportunity to do a very unique hands on experiance: Assemble yourself a Swiss Army Knife


Extra E)

Rigi Queen of the mountains + Lucerne german speaking part

The Rigi steam train was the first mountain railways in Europe. First day of operation was May 21st, 1871.
Your day will start with a train trip to Arth Goldau, where you change to the "blue" Rigi mountain train. After enjoing the top of the Rigi with its breathtaking lookouts, the "red" train will bring you to Viznau, from wehre a vessel of the Lake Lucerne fleet is bringing you to Lucerne.


Extra F)

Stanserhorn + Lucerne german speaking part

The ride up to Stanserhorn is also a journey through local history. One witness is the old-time funicular from Stans to Kälti on the first section of the crest to the top. The new CabriO cable car system - a world premiere - on the second section lets guests enjoy fresh air and great views around Mount Stanserhorn on the open air roof platform.


Extra G)

Schilthorn + Interlaken german speaking part

Visit the world's first revolving restaurant, where part of the movie of 007 James Bond, On Her Majesty's Secret Service was pruduced, on top of the Schilthorn at 3'000 m (9'750 ft) altitude. You may also visit the unique Trümmelbach Falls, the world's only glacier waterfalls that are accessible underground by lift, galleries, tunnels, paths and platforms.
For dinner we suggest the "Spycher" in Interlaken, where you will enjoy beside a typical Swiss dinner a very unique, entertaining Swiss folk show.
